My name is Gabby Macogay, I am a freelance music and entertainment journalist and lover of the arts.

I grew up onstage, performing in various school and community musicals and blasting show tunes through my wired headphones all day long (I will talk your ear off about my love of Sondheim!) As I realized that I could combine my passion for artistic storytelling with my unrivaled love for writing essays in English class, I decided to pursue arts journalism. 

In May 2024, I graduated with my BA in journalism from the University of Central Florida. I now intern with Playbill and previously freelanced with Orlando Weekly, where I specialized in feature-length coverage and interviews with touring and local artists.

When I'm not writing, I can be found dancing at concerts, showing people pictures of my dog, or watching anything directed by David Lynch.
